While I agree that we should not spend our time pushing all blame unto satan, one cannot deny his part. It does us no good to sit and pout about satan being the sole reason for all our suffering, this is certain. However, in order to defeat your enemy, you must, first, understand him. Satan's sole purpose is to kill, steal, and destroy. He is the opposite of God, the opposite of Love. He is out to foil God's plans.

Now, I ask you, did not the greatest men in the Bible suffer the greatest of trials? Satan was the one that imposed those trials. Now, the argument can be made that God "allowed" satan to impose those trials, however, it was satan, and sin that they defeated through the power of God.
