I agree. It doesn't make me happy to know it or to say it, but it should be evident to anybody who examines objectively that these accounts are, at best, drastically fictionalized, or at worst, completely made up. Dependency on falsehood is not a healthy way to receive emotional support, and it is not a good witness. Further, it distracts from the only place we can really get genuine help: God does not require embellishment to be all we need. I love Mavrick and I hope he stays on the board. I don't know why he's done this and I don't care. I hope that he can be himself and not somebody else; what is happening now is not healthy, and anyway it is he as he is that I and think all of us care about. Regarding Ward's post, Paul, I think if you read it you'll see he didn't say anything hateful. What is damaging about Mavrick's behavior is that it's not truth. I won't enumerate the problems that spring from this; that should be enough. I hope you will accept this post as what it is: a painful post to point out what I sincerely believe to be the truth, out of a desire to help this board and those who can be aided by it.
