Thanks Curter. All you said is very true. I've let myself fall into that situation in the past couple months, and have been suffering emotionally from it. God always is, and has always been, our best friend and truest lover. I think that the best, or perhaps the only, way to keep a YF/BL relationship healthy is to keep it strictly platonic. A young friendship is exactly what it is: a friendship, no matter how close it gets. It is not a boyfriend/girlfriend or marriage type of relationship. I have no statistics to prove myself, but I think that the vast majority of boys involved in a relationship with a BL think of it as a close friendship, not an intimate relationship. The moment a BL tries to get too intimate with a boy, both parties can get emotionally very hurt. I let myself be carried away a couple months ago, and because of that, started feeling very, very depressed. The depression is caused by the fact that I know my YF will never be able to, nor even *want* to feel the same way towards me! A few times, I acted to him what a boyfriend would act with his girlfriend, and of course he felt very weird. Although so far my YF hasn't been hurt (I haven't done anything serious enough for him to suspect anything), this HAS to stop. Guys, have you gone through something similar in your life before? I'm still relatively young, and "B" is my first true YF. God will give me the strength to take my lustful thoughts captive, and to always do and act what is best for my YF. Not only will I stop being depressed, I will be able to walk a more holy walk and stand straighter in the eyes of God. I'm currently praying for wisdom and change. After I've successfully overcome this trial, I will no longer be ashamed when I talk to Him, or worship Him (as I am now). If it doesn't take up too much of your time, please pray for me. Genghis |
