David -
Your questions are ones that I have posed to myself recently

If the family were transferred out of town, but the father still came back every weekend just to study with you, would you still be interested in studying?

I think that I would be, though certainly my enthusiasm for meeting with him might be somewhat diminished. I really enjoy studying with the father and when I get home and continue to study on my own, certainly there are no boys around encouraging me.

If he was not able to come back, would you still study the Bible (either by yourself or with the help of other adults [no boys around])?

Perhaps, or perhaps not. The father's church believes that true Christians need each other's help and support in order to follow Christ. I believe that my need for this is strong right now. Then again, if the father and the family disappeared from my life (I would be crushed!), I am not so sure that I could simply shrug God off. I would be sad though at losing the wonderful gift.

God has called me three times in the past year, in very clear and concise ways. It was only in his third call that I listened and I only listened because the call came down to my level (ie - through two very special, very beautiful eleven year old boys). I have asked God almost daily to let me keep this gift in return for my committment to search for Him and also in return for my acting responsibly around the family. I believe that God will do this for me. All boylovers know that their boys will someday grow up and the innocence that we cherished will fade. Hopefully, by that time, my beliefs can stand on their own :)

Thanks again for your continued interest.

You are not alone.

Ben
