You are right, of course..and I retract my earlier statement. Not all boylovers can relate to children and not all those who can relate to kids are pedophiles. My foster mom is a sunday school teacher herself and she can relate to kids as good as I can..and I am 199% sure she isnt a boylover :) However, I do feel that a significant proportion of boylovers (excluding those who are exclusively sexually obsessed) can relate to kids better than the average person. At the same time, I do acknowledge a terrible risk for any boylover in his/her work with kids. The sexual temptations are only the tip of the icebergs. For the most part, because of outside and inside pressures, they are fairly easy to reject. However, the sad truth is that the emotional temptations are much more difficult to resist. To become emotionally involved (excessively and outside GOD"s will) is a far more potent risk to the parties involve than sexual "acting out". My take in this is that, for most pedophiles, ones sexual feelings for children is but a shell..inside is the felt need to fill the emptiness in ones soul with the affection of children. In short, we are making the mistake of substituting the "love" of children for the Love of God to fill the emptiness of our souls. At least thats my opinion..and I am open to any reproofs :) In Christ John |
