John - For me, being a boylover has resulted in my having a very strong ability to relate to children and to work with them successfully. Since I was in college, people would tell me that I had a gift for working with kids. It is wonderful to be good at something and to do it with such passion and love for it. I have a hard time accepting the handicap aspect because my love for boys seems to me to be no different than love for a woman. When I dream of boys, it is only in the most loving, caring and passionate way. People presume that pedophiles want to rape children or force them to have sex against their will. They dream of empty, dirty sex and cannot imagine that one could envision something sexual with a child which is beautiful and loving. The problem is that a child may have a difficulty perceiving it the same way and therefore, an actual sexual act is not likely to actually happen (I know that some BLs have had concentual relatinonships...I won't dispute it even though I don't know if it is really true). Even though the act may or may not be possible in a loving and pure way, there is no question in my mind that MY LOVE is not a handicap or a curse. It is just love. In my case, my love for boys led me to a family who has showed me a love for God. You are not alone. Ben |
