That is a most interesting question. I would suppose that there are two ways of viewing it. One way is to view pedophilia as a handicap, another manifestation of the sinful nature of humanity, who seeks fulfillment in everything else but GOD (in our case, boys). As such, it is a thorn in the flesh. Another view, which I tend to lean on, is that our "love" for children is allowed by GOD so that we can help them. Face it, a significant proportion of people helping kids dont do it for entirely altrustic reasons. We have been given the ability to relate and communicate efficiently with kids...and communication is an essential factor in true love and this world is quite lacking in true love. However, the nature of sin, as well as the work of the enemy is to twist and to pervert. Thus, that love has been twisted into something horrible (rape, coercion, improper sex, et al). Still, GOD is still in charge. I think a pedophile who continously does what is right in GOD's eyes (not yield to temptation) and spread his LOVE to kids is far better off than a self-righteous bishop or pastor.
