Hi Ray!

I remember very well the thread you cited about lust.

I suppose if lust and fantasy are what you want growing in your garden, then they are not weeds. Weeds are undesirable plants, or plants growing where you don't want them.

Although these things are unfortunately a part of my life, they are certainly not what I believe God wants, and certainly not what I believe He wants fluorishing in my life.

I want to come to the place where this lump of clay will grow what God wants, to the exclusion of everything else. As the scripture says, "By their fruits ye shall know them." I want to bear fruit for Jesus, not for Andy. I realize that I can't even come close to perfection, but unless I have that desire, I have no right to ask for His divine fellowship.

Anything that I have in my life that I put before Him is a stumbling block, and will keep me from reaching Him.

Every day when I take my school bus to pick up the children for school, or drop them off at home, I pray that they can see in me some small example of what Christ wants me to be, and that it will encourage them to want to live for Him. I love these children, and I am ashamed when I allow that love to stray to lust. These are weeds to me. As John Guard so aptly put it, if we aren't careful, we'll allow this love for children to be mistaken for love of God. But, of course, we can't love God without also loving the children.

Please pray with me for a closer walk with Him.

love in His sweet and wonderful name,
Andy
