I have been a pastor of three churches for almost three years now. I have found that ministry is full of highs and lows. It seems that you are in a low valley at this time but the lows don't last forever.

I had a family leave my church because the mother put a clock in the social hall. Another woman moved the clock to the kitchen and replaced the clock in the social hall with a different clock. Humanity is sinful and these petty things are going to happen in churches and as pastor there is not a whole lot you can do about it, so don't give people the power to destroy your spirit!!!

One of the highs in my ministry was how God led me to visit a boy from the community who was diagnosed with leukemia about a year and a half ago and was in a children's hospital 80 miles away. I developed a close loving relationship with the boy and his family. I made the 160 mile round trip at least once a week to visit the boy. He recently died and his father told me I was a second father to the boy and gave him the faith to face death that he as the boy's father did not have to give to his son.

TF, your not going to win every battle but God put you where you are for a reason and your ministry has and will impact certain people. Remember how Jesus healed and called people -- one to one. Concentrate on the people you can reach and don't worry about the ones you can't!
