A very moving post, obviously from the heart. You have answered my question. For that I thank you. re: the pain of the past As a minister I know says on a regular basis: When you accept the Lord, your sins are forgiven - those of the past, those of the present, and those you may commit in the future. Re: compulsions that are difficult to resist: I know what dealing with not being able to resist a thing is like. I have been fortunate that my compulsions (which seem to change from year to year) only waste time and energy better spent elsewhere, and are not in and of themselves harmful except in excess [example: being addicted to video games.] Go in peace, brother. I do not know if "someone" is your usual nick (I guess not, there were no other recent posts under that nick), but you should not feel obligated to post under your usual nick - you and God both know who you are. -d (david_tx on IRC) |
