I found this part of the bible very disturbing because I feel so strongly that the human body is a beautiful thing which should never be looked at in shame. It seems to me that this message could have a number of other meanings. The first one is that it might infer that INCEST is wrong. After all, Noah's sons were not children, but were young men. It is almost unheard of for men who are BLs to form truly intergenerational relationships with their own sons, so this would have been a poor example for God to use. Another interpretation is that Noah's sons were showing respect for their father's humility by not looking at him in his naked, drunken stupor. Noah had not asked to be seen naked and they were respecting that fact. It also seems odd that M/B sex was not mentioned in Corinthians or Romans, letters to people among whom such activity was rampant. You are not alone. Ben |
