Hi F.O.D. I appreciate you patience with me, your good humor .... and the time you have taken to explain your point of view. You might say that I'm playing "The Devil's Advocate" ....and very comfortable in that role, I dare say ;) I'm sure that you can relate to that. heh I certainly have many "unanswered" questions and I think that it's healthy to to ask and consider other people's point of view. If you're happy with what you have and you find peace within yourself, then you must be on the right track, at least for you. I don't want to try and create doubt in your mind or say that you're wrong. Only "God" can know that for sure. I'll ask him next time we have a talk and will let you know the answer ;) The easiest people to dismiss, are the ones who are so fixed and unbending in their own mind that they have closed themselves to different points of view, even within their own religion. My parents were brought up in a very ummmmmmmmm narrow slice of Christianity, where some people within their denomination, thought all the OTHER Christians were going to hell, because they didn't believe exactly as they did. So there you go. Even being a Good Christian, doesn't guarantee a sure place in Heaven, according to some folks. heh I'm relieved to see that you don't have ALL the answers either and are willing to admit to some "poetic licence" when reading the scriptures as such. I believe in miracles, but not fairy tales. There are many "stories" that Jesus told as "parables" to drive home a point to the multitudes. I believe the lessons given in the Bible have much value, in spite of them possibly not having a literal truth. I'm not sure how anyone can have the audacity to believe that they "know" what GOD thinks. The conscequences of that magnitude of knowledge is way beyond me. In God we live and have our being.... no-thing is outside of God's knowledge or he wouldn't be Omnipotent, Omnicient and Omnipresent. To me, that's the Spirit of God, no matter how you want to slice it and dice it! btw, i'm not finished ;) just a pause in the dance of life .... For the Love of God tks |
