Hi Lawless, You DO have friends here. That's what this place is all about, friends helping friends. We all have a few things in common because we are either boylovers, Christians, or both (mostly "both" but not always). And not a few of us are recovering alcoholics and drug addicts. I'm one of those. And I truly want to help you. If you go down this list of posts, you'll see one with my name on it and the title,"My Testimony". I wrote that for the bennefit of someone else but it will come in handy here for sure. I am a recovering alcoholic and I have been sober now for a little over a year (Praise God!!!). I can definately relate to your experience when you were 17. God actually DID take away your drugging but I think what happened was that after a while you probably started to think about drinking and it probably didn't take too much to convince yourself that it might be "ok" to just try it. And, if your like me, one drink led to another, and then another, and on and on. If I'm wrong then I will stand corrected but that's how it always happened with me. My friend, you CAN stop drinking forever if you want to. You've already made a VERY important step twords that goal; you admitted you have a problem. God can and will take it from your life, no matter what you said to Him a long time ago. He still loves you with all His big heart. I know because I can't count the number of times I've gotten drunk and yelled nasty curses in His general direction. He forgave me for that and a whole lot of other rotten things I did while drinking. I know that if God could forgive me (and He could and did), then He will forgive you too. And He can help get you sober AND keep you sober. I can't go over every detail about how to stay sober here right now because I would probably wind up writing all night. How about if you e-mail me.
