wots uh the deal with these errors.

I have been a "Christian" now for around 5 years. Lately, I have been finding it hard to accept the fact that the Bible has many errors. Not that I don't believe it has errors ( it obviously does http://members.aol.com/ckbloomfld/ ), but something seems odd about claiming a book is divinely inspired etc etc then having to explain why it endorses sexism, slavery, infanticide and other odd bigotries and practices. I have heard the argument that "it was written by people who lived in a different time, so it contains things from their perspective"; however, I feel you either have to accept it all as the truth or the whole thing loses credibility. One gets into trouble for picking and choosing what you like or do not like out of the Bible. As an Episcopalian, I understand the Catholics' view of the Bible is quite accurate in my eyes, but I don't believe in the Catholic Church's authority thus I am stuck in sort of a rut. Any advice/URLs/help would be greatly appreciated.
