Hi GRA,

There's the verse that says

Matt 7:7 Ask and it shall be given unto you, seek and you shall find, knock and the door will be opened unto you

It has taken me a long time to realize that that verse did not say:

Ask and it shall be given unto you, whatever you want, seek and you will find whatever you want, knock at any door and I will open it for you

I think too often we pray for what we want and not what God wants. The truth is we are lost without Him. We don't know what to do when we try things on our own. A friend of mine recently told me that in those times of life that seemingly has us in a no win state, don't let it get you down. There's nothing you can do. God knows what to do and if you make yourself available to Him then He will create a good work in you.

Next, your feelings are out of your control. You have no choice but to feel certain ways in different sets of life. Don't think you can change how you will feel. I believe that we can change our reaction to these things of life, but even God's greatest people have been in times of trial. Look at what David said in Psalm 13:

How long, O lord will you forget me forever?
How Long will you hide your face from me?
How long must I wrestle with me thoughts?
and every day have sorrow in my heart.
How long will my enemy triumph over me.

Look on me, oh Lord my God
Give light to my eyes or I will sleep in death
my enemy will say "I have overcome him,"
and my foes will rejoice when I fall

But I trust in your unfailing love;
my heart rejoices in your salvation
I will sing to the Lord
For he has been good to me.

Someone else posted (Drifter?) and said not long ago, that "the Christain walk is a difficult one, and while God has the power to heal the greatest affliction, we must be like David and be content with what God has given us and rejoice in the positive things that God has provided, even in our time of crisis, even when we feel that our problems are overpowering us."

I'd suggest make a list of stuff that God has given you instead of worrying too much about what he hasn't. Thank Him for that. Ask for His door to be opened unto you, not the one you want. In your times of greatest turmoil, rejoice and praise God all the more. I do it by singing; I'm yet to hear my neighbors complain that I praise God too loud, any other music, it's a given...lol. Seek out fellowship and accountability too. This is a good place to come; do you have that in real life. A church or group of friends to do things and talk with. I hope you will update us on your walk. Please "knock" at this door anytime. I promise you, it will always be open. Many blessings to you. May you find His Truth.

God's peace,
Oliver
