"You know, each night I have a simple prayer, that whatever is best for this boy, make it so." You know, I may have totally missed this, but my recollection is that, when you first started talking about this a year ago, you were not yet praying the first half of that prayer. :) Of course, I could be wrong, but in any case, that seems to me a big step forward, and one that most people in love never take. Did you see An Ideal Husband? I thought that the most magical moment in that movie was when the main character defined love as the desire "to give with no thought of return." To be honest, I found the first paragraph of your post rather embarrassing – it's like being congratulated for getting a C on one's report card. I should think that the minimum anyone would do when talking with others is see the obvious connections between the other person's experiences and one's own – it always surprises me when people reading boylovers' post translate "fall in love with a boy" into "rape a boy" rather than into "fall in love with a man/woman." It's like those AltaVista translations that never quite get it right. Heather |
