Jim: I wanted your input on the "Two other interesting questions for society:", specificly when or if, given the opportunity, society or parents have the right or responsibility to tune sexuality. I put the "These are for Jim" line two paragraphs too low. Sorry. Remember: We are already tuning gender preference (test-tube babies, and a recent "try for a boy" quasi-joke thread in BC), tuning against genetic diseases, tuning in favor of children who grow up to be responsible adults (well, SOME people are - alas, there are lousy parents out there), tuning in favor of an (allegedly) educated society in the USA, and other kinds of tuning. The ethics of each of these "tunings" may be open to debate. -David ("d") |
