(Jim - your part is at the bottom)

This begs some interesting questions about when sexuality is fixed.

What percentage of the population has it adult sexuality fixed at conception, and of that percentage, which are fixed as (primarily) homosexual, (primarily) heterosexual, or no preference (bisexual)?

Nine months later, after many hormonal influences and much growth has occurred, what percentage of the population has its adult sexuality fixed?

10-14 years later, at the onset of puberty, ask the same question.

3-10 years later, after puberty, ask the same question again.

Of the (few?) whose preferences are not yet fixed, will they ever be fixed or will their preferences shift over time?

Two other interesting questions for society:
What non-genetic factors influence a person's sexuality, and does society and/or parents have the right or even perhaps the responsibility to "tune" these environmental factors to increase the likelihood of a "preferred" outcome?
And in the future, what genetic factors influence a person's sexuality and does society and/or parents have the right or responsibility to tune?

These are for Jim, and anyone else who wants to answer:

And what if these "tuning decisions" are forced - suppose your kid has athsma, and there are two anti-athsma medications. One is proven to "tune" a kid who is not already "fixed" towards homosexuality, the other, towards heterosexuality. You have to pick one or let your kid suffer athsma. Choose.
Or, you are a prospective father, and you have high blood pressure. There are two blood pressure medications, one of which kills sperm which carry the "gay-preference" gene and one which kills sperm which carry the "heterosexual-preference" gene. Choose.
Obviously, these are oversimplified contrived examples.
