Hi Jim (and every one else), I apologize that what I have said has come off as saying that you are demonically possessed. What I recall saying in the past is that you have what is called a "stronghold" in your life that Satan has forged a way into your life, this doesn't mean that you are possessed, it just means that you have an area in your life that you need to get right with God with, I personally believe that this stronghold had opened (what are called) "footholds" in your life that have created a opening for Satan to attach a stronghold into your life that has/can affect the way you think. Here is an example, hopefully this will be helpful (and I really don't want to make this example the central topic point of this discussion...) I stopped eating animal meat when I was about 4 years old, and ever since then I have not willfully sought to eat meat. Now, 19 years later and throughout these years I have eaten meat by accident, When I realized or was told that it was meat I was disgusted and stopped eaten what ever it was I was eating. Today and for the past year since I became a Christian I have desired to eat meat, yet I cannot willfully start, something (a stronghold) repels me from eating animal meat. You see, through my own will I cannot set forth and eat animal meat, I can but I will get disgusted by it (as I have in the past). This is a stronghold in my life, and I am going to be set free from this stronghold through prayer and through developing a deep and strong relationship with God (Jesus), and in this process I am also going to be going through deliverance, Which will set me free from many bondage's (strongholds) in my life. Does this make any sense? Just because you have strongholds in your life doesn't necessarily mean you are demonically possessed, it means you have (areas in your life) to get right with God and enter into a personal relationship with him, Not necessarily through church attendance but by reading the (Bible) word of God, and seeking him.
