Hi Gerald - Thanks for the continued discussion. I believe that God has used the bible as a tool to communicate to us what he wants from our lives. The more I study the bible, the more I become convinced that it is accurate. 2 Timothy 3:16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, Even if you are not ready to accept this concept, I do not at all agree that following one's own desires is empiracly shown to be superior to following the bible. Quite the contrary, I believe that societies denying of God has led us on a path of disaster. But it has to start first, and foremost, with faith in God. If you do not believe in God, then there is little that I could convince you of from the bible. If you DO believe in God, then it makes no sense to me that you would follow your desires rather than look for what God wants. You are not alone. Ben |
