Thanks for your continued encouragement David. Actually, my church has several tiers of 'accountability partners' including the matching of a newer Christian with a more mature one in a long term relationship of teaching and guidance. Additionally, we form groups of brothers in a looser arrangement and in which we also try to be as open as possible about our sins. The only snag in all of this is that, at the moment, I cannot be completely frank about sins related to boys for many obvious reasons. Perhaps someday I will. I somehow think that God supports this decision because it (having people NOT know that I am a pedophile) has allowed me to reach out to people more, including many children. Ultimately, the accountability is with God. But confessing here does also have its benefits. You are not alone. Ben |
