Hi Honesty, I agree with you big time, Honesty. And I really don't care how many people disagree with me on this, either. I do not, nor will I ever in my life, advocate corporal punishment. Other means of correction can ALWAYS be found. Now please let me clarify something, ok. If a young child reaches acroos an open flame on a stove top, then I can see where a quick and light slap on the hand is probably nessisary for the child's safty. But to take a stick, rod, belt, strap, or even hand to a child, hitting that kid over and over until he or she cries like mad or is screaming, no sir, I don't think so! My father was, among other things, a very heavy disaplinarian. And all of us kids would get it often. You know what? It did absolutely nothing but make me very much afraid of, and later on, very much angry at, my father. And I cannot even see how this kind of punishment could ever be seen as a loving jesture on ANYONES part! It sure NEVER felt like love in MY family, I can tell you!! Honesty, I must say that I very much agree with your anger AND concern for this poor kid. I'm sorry if noone else here agrees with this stand, but I stand very much against corporal punishment!
