Personally, I think that the punishment should fit the crime, so it depends highly on what offense the child is accused of. Looking back, I can remember only two incidents in my childhood where my parents took a belt to me and I deserved it both times because I was placing myself in potentially dangerous situations. There are alternatives to capital punishment (as my parents proved). These alternatives should be considered before resorting to the belt. Love |
