Hi SU! welcome to the club; we're all carrying burdens of various sizes. i got abused by a minister's son when I was a kid; it still burns and stays with me. you just ask for the father's love; it helps and you can always find more people until you have a safety net that's as big as the holes in your heart. I know you feel like there's "Stuff you can't do" but only you can change. I could never trust adults to ask for affection. I spent the last two months practicing in front of a mirror so that I could say "I need your recognition as a good man....." to the adult leaders at my church. cuz that was my thing; i love it when boys recognize me as a big strong man, and I sometimes ask for that too much.....but I don't want to hurt 'em! And I just wouldn't wouldn't wouldn't trust adults to give me that.... So I FORCE myself to ask for recognition from the people who can give it. Gotta put adult burdens on adults! 'nother thing; get a new nick! we're all screwed up sinners here, so how can we recognize you? That's what we do here in the kingdom of God; we wipe the mud off each others faces to see who we are. Christ comes around and asks us to play on his team; if we say yes, and jump in and play hard, then later, when we're all happy healthy boys together, we can look back and laugh at the shell of the little crumpled guy we thought we were.
