Dear SU, I hope you don't mind that I'm not calling you "Screwed Up," even though that's the nick you've chosen. If you have strenuous objections, please accept my apologies. :) My introduction is in the Old Posts now, so I'll re-introduce myself. I'm one of the family members that Bach came out to as a BL. I'm hanging out here as a sign of my love and support for him, and for the others who find their way here. I'm a Christian. I'm a sinner. I don't condemn you. I have never suffered the turmoil that so many here describe, but one thing which I've found helpful in my own struggle is a simple little prayer: "Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me." I've found that when I'm in the middle of a struggle, I'm able to throw myself into this. It's short, but if you're despairing, it's amazing how much you can put into it. The church that I'm in encourages the frequent use of this prayer, called the "Jesus Prayer." It's one way of "calling on the name of the Lord," and it's only vain repetition if you don't really mean it. Your brother, Dirk |
