Hi SGitNW,
I have to agree with Chris. Do something with the boy (not sexually, of course). When you keep him in your mind and love him like that solely, your mind will eventually start to imagine some strange things, and this is were sin comes in. If you love him, and it sounds as though you do, allow that love to flow from you to him. Jesus doesn't just sit up in heaven and love us from afar. No, he is right here with us. Jesus acts. It's the same way with God. He doesn't just sit there and do nothing except think. His Love results in our creation. Love = Action my friend.

In the last couple of years I have found a great activity to take the boys I meet out on (those that are 9 or 10 yrs old or older). I love to golf, and with Tiger Woods on the scene the kids just love to have a chance to go out golfing. I have to pick slow times of the week to take them (because we are really slow), usually around dinner time, but they really enjoy it. It gives me a lot of time to talk with them and since I am really bad at golf it gives them a chance to laugh with me about my game, as well as theirs. After this I usually get to take them out to the resturant of their choice (usually McD's)and that gives them a chance to do something else they really like (eat).

Doing something with a boy is not sinful. Loving a boy is not sinful either. As long as it all stays on a platonic level I don't see a whole lot of trouble. You just have to be careful. I make sure I go out golfing with guys my age and older once in a while just to keep the tongues from wagging. I much prefer golfing, or bowling, or playing tennis,or playing board games with my young friends. But the reality of the situation in this country is such that we have to be careful.

I know that I get into times when I am fixated on just one boy. This eventually will lead to no good. Whenever I find myself fixated on one boy I find that I am ignoring my prayer (I try to fit one hour of meditative prayer in everyday), or am not challenging my mind enough, or just in general, am not occupying my time fruitfully with the Lord. This stuff happens. I get lazy, and that opens me up to the whiles of the evil one. When I realize it, I get my Bible out and open myself up to the Holy Spirit. He will always guide me back, and in the process I will find Jesus again.

Gotta go, someone's knocking....
If you found any words of advice helpful, thank God for them.

In the Love, Peace and Joy of Christ,
Brian
