Hi Scott, I think that's a fine question. I gotta jump out of exile and put my two bobs worth in. I get the feeling the question comes up (and it comes to my mind too), because we have this false impression that what we feel like doing is always what's worth doing, and God's this big meany putting us through some test just for the sake of it by not letting us do the "good" things. But I suspect there is nothing arbitrary about the way God wants us to live our lives. What he wants is that which is objectively good. So I would say the reason why we don't carry on in sin is because we are instead striving to do that which is worth doing. Like your fourth reason, I guess. Sin is that which is not worth doing.
