Here is an additional thought on the subject which I omitted intentionally from the original post: Yes, maybe, in fact, yes probably, God intends us to help boys because we are willing to live on the fringe, and do things that others wouldn't do because they are tied down to an earthly mundane life. But some of us, I believe, will also be called by God to serve other purposes (hopefully, we can always keep helping boys in the mix!). By our willingness to live on the fringe, we are also much more likely to spread the gospel and to bring other people to God. A BL knows well what it is like to be 'persecuted'. Matthew 5:10 Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Because we have learned to go on anyway, even when we are looked down upon (as were many discipes...Paul included for sure!), we are much more willing to fight for God's will. Just more food for thought :) You are not alone. Ben |
