Thanks Ben you did a good job expressing yourself. I don't think that my understanding is going to happen overnite, but I do think learning about you all and what you are all going thru will help me understand part of what happened to me , maybe. My stepfather never tried to explain to us why he did what he did, he blamed it on my older sister, and you can imagine, it was awful. But I for a long time held a strong hatred for pedophiles, and I'm not saying I could openly be friends with one around my family, my family has to come first. But... I am able to hear you and your colleagues here on this forum w/an open heart and I'm thankful that you are all Christians b/c I do believe that the only way you will all have victory over your demons is to have Christ in your life and I will say this, that the way Shari is lashing out at this group is not a Christian attitude that is becoming. I can honestly say that I have heard so many times that what has turned people away from church and Christians is the false witness they present. You can not win someone over by being hateful or "above that person". the Love you find thru Jesus Christ is the only thing that can help you win any battle in life, and I will say this I asked a few Christian friends why my life was the way it was , that was something I had wondered for years and she told me that God hand picked me b/c he knew that I was strong and special. She also told me this testimony of my life would be a gift to others that were experiencing the same things I had so it could help someone, and I hope that you all pray everyday and find a way that you can praise God for letting you be who you are and walking with you everyday. I am now thankful for my testimony, our hardships make us better people, smarter people but its not at all by our own doing. And only w/open hearts, hearts that have the love of Jesus in them can we help each other and I would encourage Shari to look at her own heart and see what is in there and get rid of the hatred. |
