BLues - I'm curious to know why you are involved in a sexual relationship with a man if you are not gay and it is not satisfying. Considering the fact that there is far more evidence against having sex with men to be found in the bible than against just masterbating, why engage in a potential sin that is not even satisfying? Beyond that I recognize your logic about masterbation and being 'satisfied' by looking at pictures of boys. This is what I have done for over 20 years of my life. You said: Okay, my irritability would end just as soon as I had masturbated looking at boy pics. While I have certainly believed this for most of my life, I now do not believe it anymore. Confidence in the flesh is a lie, and a promise that offers more and delivers less than anything else that you might be tempted with. The only thing that this relief does is to allow you to temporarily recharge for more hunger. I have lived that same life too long to believe that I can 'relieve' myself continuously without recognizing the addictive pattern that I am in. Every time I masterbated I would swear that this was the 'last time' and that I would repent after this time. But I would keep on needing it. You will ALWAYS keep on needing it if you solve it by succumbing to it. The ONLY way out of the pattern (if you choose to believe that it must be stopped) is to address it by suffering the pain of surrendering it. I don't mean this to sound too morbid, but I've forced myself to go longer than I should without masterbating, just so that I could see what the withdrawl felt like. Paul said: Philippians 3:3 For it is we who are the circumcision, we who worship by the Spirit of God, who glory in Christ Jesus, and who put no confidence in the flesh--though I myself have reasons for such confidence. If anyone else thinks he has reasons to put confidence in the flesh, I have more: I guess what I am saying is that if you believe that masterbation will solve your masterbation problem, you may be deceived :) |
