BLues -
Thanks for posting this subject. First of all let me hold you up for being so selfless and generous with that boy! Wow, to give away your whole Playstation to a boy that you don't know, is incredibly giving.

One of the things that I, myself, have been laboring over lately is whether or not my 'helping of boys' has really been more self-serving than truly self-less. In some instances, I have not been giving enough of myself. I can remember one time that, during a sports practice, I made one of the cutest boys on my team be on the 'skins' team, just so that would get to see him without his shirt. He didn't want to because he was shy but I pushed him to do it anyway. I could argue that it was good for him to do it because I think it is unhealthy for boys (or anyone) to be ashamed of the body that God gave them (and his was certainly nothing to be ashamed of :0). But my motivation was selfish and the boy felt uncomfortable.

The good news is that God worked it out so that it did not have a long lasting affect on the boy. He actually did end up more willing to be seen without his shirt off, which is a favorable outcome. But at that moment I was more interested in serving my own need than the boy's.

The issue of selfishness is one that we all need to really look at daily in our lives. It is not at all an issue which is isolated to BLs! It is deeply ingrained in our society to be selfish and it is NOT the way that Jesus was.

You are not alone.

Ben
