Sorry to be so callous guys, but I just don't see why what a particular church or group of people are supporting, ordaining or accepting is so vital to our faith as Christians.

I do not believe that man created God, but that God created man in his own image. Therefore, no man can change or recreate God as he sees fit, and therefore has no impact whatsoever on what my lifestyle and actions. Any aspect of myself which I choose to have impacted by God (and in theory that should be EVERY aspect of me, but I fall short of that goal) is impacted by God's Word and by my relationship with God through prayer. My church serves as a place where I can learn and grow, fellowship, support and be supported. My church is WONDERFUL. But my church does NOT judge my salvation and my church has ZERO ability to change God's will for my life. If we are truly the BODY of Christ, which I believe that we are, then we need to stop looking for acceptance from the other body parts. When we lose a finger, the other fingers learn to hold a pencil differently. When we are blind, our ears learn to hear more accutely. If your church has you believing that THEY control your salvation, then IMO, you need to find a new church :)

Whew!

You are not alone.

Ben
