polygamy

Actually, as you pointed out, that is not the rule at all, in a sense at least (though it is the western secular law). I take polygamy quite seriously, indeed, I never could understand why the state bans it. Monogamy is the guideline for church leaders, but that is a slightly different question.

I guess I would say polygamy is inadvisable, I suppose it is out of wack with the idea of Gen. 2, but I couldn't say there's some "law" against it (except for the one which is against it). It worked for the Hebrews. Sort of.

Reading between the lines of your post, thanks for reminding me that there is no solution to the dilemma :)
