the rule is simply that you can't enter into marriage with more than one person at a time. Actually, as you pointed out, that is not the rule at all, in a sense at least (though it is the western secular law). I take polygamy quite seriously, indeed, I never could understand why the state bans it. Monogamy is the guideline for church leaders, but that is a slightly different question. I guess I would say polygamy is inadvisable, I suppose it is out of wack with the idea of Gen. 2, but I couldn't say there's some "law" against it (except for the one which is against it). It worked for the Hebrews. Sort of.
