For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. 2 Timothy 1:7 There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love. 1 John 4:18 "So I will come near to you for judgment. I will be quick to testify against sorcerers, adulterers and perjurers, against those who defraud laborers of their wages, who oppress the widows and the fatherless, and deprive aliens of justice, but do not fear me," says the Lord Almighty. Malachi 3:5 I must say that for me the gospel message is love. God came down at Christmas because he loves us. Jesus died to save us and give us eternal life because he loves us. Repentence can also be taken to refer to "love thy neighbour". How often do we miss the mark when it comes to our neighbours, let alone loving our enemies? Turning from our sins means creating and sharing love. Do you not take these verses seriously? It is very dangerous to simply pick and choose individual verses in this way.
