Hey brother!

Yes, it's true, I admit. We haven't been talking much. I haven't. I confess I'm like many of the people here - I usually read the messages and then only post my own if there's something I really want to respond to. That doesn't help build a community. If we were all face to face, we'd all be talking more. That's one of the problems of doing community this way. I don't know excatly who I'm talking to at any one time, who's going to read my message first, and so on. I don't know how often the others come here and read. So it's harder to take the jump and post a new message.

But that said, this is the right place to be. It really does seem to me that most of the regular people here are committed to being a supportive community. And the more we all talk, the more genuine we will all seem to each other, and the more we will be willing to open up without fear. I guess the message to all of us is: Let's talk more, guys!

Just now, I'm feeling really excited with studying the person of the Holy Spirit, in terms of the Trinity, and also how and why the Spirit worked in Jesus and works in the church. And it's really inspiring to think of the role the Spirit has in the giving and receiving of love between the Father and his Son - a bit like the intimacy of relationship many of us deeply long for. God really is beyond searching out! And I suppose the love between the Father and the Son could be a model for love between older and younger males here in this life, not just strict father-son relationships. And it's certainly a model for the giving and receiving that we should be doing by talking and listening to each other.

So thanks for raising the issue, Compas(s)ion, and here's a {{{hug}}}. Stay around for more of them.

With love,

Jules
