Chris, may I encourage to wait on the Lord regarding this. I too had a YF of which I first met at age 10. I was going to marry his mother and God intervened. I thank God for that now. Long and short, his mother asked me to be his big brother after we broke up, of which I gladly did. We were also inseperable. Although when he turned 13, 14 he started drifting appart from me. That hurt, but I learned to accept that it was a part of his growing up. In his late teens, early twenties, he found himself a girlfriend. Interestingly once in a while he came over for advice during this time. I was invited to his wedding, and took his wedding pictures, of which they loved. After his marriage we started to see each other more and more, almost to the point I would say why are you calling so much. But I never did say that. Today he has two children, and I see them [his wife, and him too] at least once a week, sometimes more. And he said just recently that 'you know my door is always open to you'. You must know how elated I was almost to tears, I am getting that now. Praise God for His ways which are pass knowing. Remember Chris that it says that He will do beyond what we ask or think [Ephesians 3:20]. The key is in His timing not ours. That is where faith comes in.
