Hi Sheesh,

I'm sorry it took me a while to reply to your post, I have been a litle busy. I'm so glad you decided to come here. So, first I would just like to welcome you here.

My beliefs about baptism are about the same as Jules, I think. I was baptised as a Catholic when I was just a baby, then I was baptised again as an adult in a Baptist Church. I have left that particular church, but to me, my baptism is still a very good and valid part of my Christian walk. I believe that by being baptised, I have publicly demonstrated my faith in God, and my commitment to Him and my salvation. I did not do it to be saved, because salvation only occurs when we accept Christ, but I did it to show God. others, and myself that I am committed to Him and my salvation through Jesus.

It was a wonderful experiance, though, and I will always be glad I did it. It was kind of funny, too. In the church where I was baptised, they did it by fully immersing you in water, right in the front of the church...right in front of the entire congragation. It was like a sauna or a pool or something, with these stairs going down into the water, where both you and the pastor would stand. Well, right before the pastor baptises you, you get to tell the whole congragation about your favorite scripture verse (and why it's your favorite), plus a little about yourself and your faith in Christ. Well, the first thing I did was look down at the live microphone they had sitting next to the baptism pool, and asked the pastor,"Do you think it's safe to have this mic sitting here?". Well, the entire church busted out laughing and the pastor baptised me in water and laughter. I knew after that night that God was real and my salvation is real, and my heart will always carry with it the joy of God.

So I would highly recomend that you do try to get baptised, because it can have so much meaning in your walk with God. I will be praying that you find a church who will do this for you, even if you do not intend to stay with the church. God loves you either way, Sheesh, but I hope you get the oppertunity to do this.

Keep coming back, Sheesh, and God Bless you hugely!

Love,
Chris
