Hi Dirk,

That is a very good way to study or read the Bible! I try to do the same thing myself. That is, I read out of the old AND new testiment both. This way I am not missing out on any of the gold in the old testiment books, just because the new testiment can be more interesting sometimes. It has also helped me to really get into the stories about the great men of the old testiment. Like I am currently reading both in 1 Samual and the Gospel of John....about two or three chapters apiece. It works quite well.

Another good habit to get into, I think, is to pray before AND after reading. I am tring to get myself into this habit now. I usualy ask God to guide my study and reviel His truth and wisdom through his word as I read. It does make a big diferance. And I think it is a good idea to say a prayer afterwords as well. But these kind of habits take a little time and effort to impliment...but it is well worth the effort. I can just about FEEL myself growing much closer to the Lord daily. And this is particularly important to me right now as i have a lot of time on my hands....I cannot "afford" to get lazy in my faith.

Thank you for your advise a well, Dirk. God's Word is wonderful, isn't it?

Love,
Chris
