Hi helpy,
remember Jesus' words? "In this world you will have trouble. But take heart, I have overcome the world."

I'm heaps glad to hear you're giving priority to your wife. I think it's damn important to upheld her value above all else (which is one of the reasons I've not married. I don't know if I could keep her first like that).

Sometimes I feel the same way you do about "missed opportunities". Some guys talk about the fun they got into when they were boys, but now they're old and married they don't do that anymore. I remember a couple of times when I wanted to fool around with a friend, but he wasn't interested, and a couple of other times when a friend might have been interested, but I was too afraid to. I turned another guy down when he wanted sex, and though I'm convinced to this day I did the right thing, still I regret it. As another boylover recently put it "I'll never forgive myself for doing the right thing".

How should we deal with these *memories* (or desire for "memories")? You said you thought of it as having missed or lost something. I reckon we should look at it a different way. Not get dwelt up in the "might-have-beens", but live more for today. I dunno, focus on how you can sexually excite your wife. I mean, see it as an adventure and a challenge, to make up for the things you missed as a boy by doing fantastic things together with her. I like the way Ecclesiastes puts it "Meaningless, everything is meaningless". Nothing that we do has any lasting value, all of our life is just a puff of vapour. If you had have had sex as a boy, it wouldn't mean anything, if you hadn't, it wouldn't mean anything either. In the long glance it will all be forgotten. Therefore live today, not yesterday, and throw yourself into enjoying the day.

Enjoy life with your wife, whom you love, all the days of this meaningless life that God has given you under the sun-- all your meaningless days. For this is your lot in life and in your toilsome labor under the sun. Eccl 9:9

Tell me what you think, and we can talk some more.

God bless,

Fod
