Looking back, I see the concept of God I was taught as a child (and later had to reject) was one specifically formulated to control a rambunctious boy such as I was then. Indeed, both then and now such concepts are used in an attempt to mold "ideal children." Otto Lohmueller recently commented (satirically) on this by means of a painting in which this "ideal boy" is portrayed. Fortunately, his Gallery 1 at the same site contains many wonderful paintings of real boys. ---Ford |
