On August 21, 1913, Franz Kafka wrote the following diary entry: "Today I got Kierkegaard's Buch des Richters. As I suspected, his case, despite essential differences, is very similar to mine, at least he is on the same side of the world. He bears me out like a friend." * * * * * Isn't it interesting that by today's standards, SK would himself have been labelled a pedophile? Imagine a 24 year old theology student falling in love with a 14 year old school girl! :^) The struggles that both SK and Kafka had in their personal lives can be a real encouragement to others who find themselves unable to express their love in a "normal" relationship.
