So true
I can see gnosticism inspiring a good many cults. I recently read the Didache, and loved it except for one passage (I'll let you guess which one it was!) Also, I have been trying to locate the noncannonical letters of Paul, and I can't find them anywahere. I have the Christian Apochypha, Kabbalah, Gnostic scriptures, Church Fathers, and even the Q gospel; but I can't find those letters. Please if you know of any books that have them, rely the information. Well some of the writings are a little far out there, but the theology makes so much sense. The idea that Yahweh traps human spirit in the body (because the body can feel very much like a trap), and to escape this illusion or trap we must achieve gnosis and through death escape. The image I love in the apocolypse of Peter is "As Jesus laughed above the cross as they crucified the substance", I just imagine Jesus cracking up as everyone is sitting around being depressed. Like the Hymn of the Pearl in the Acts of Thomas, I fell in love with that the moment I read it, I am taking a class in Syriac now so I can read the original. (See what happens when one must repress all his sexual energy). Anyway it is nice chatting with you hope to talk to you again
God Speed
David
