Their sins were with in the law of their respective lands. According to the Pharisaic regime, killing Christians was perfectly legal. In King David's jurisdictions, as king he was untouchable. But even *HE* suffered for his sins, by losing his first child by Bathsheeba. Either way, in our land, child molesters are prosecuted. Therefore Jay should pay for his crimes. And if he was *REALLY* repentent and wanted to be a Christian, he'd accept this penance gladly and with joy. If I was in his shoes, I'd be even willing to accept the death penalty, to makeup for my wrongs against my victims. The death penalty is the *ONLY* way I think a child molester can truly atone for his temporal sins!! But you are right, eternal sins are already paid for and atoned by virtue of Christ's work on the cross. It's TEMPORAL sins that need atoning for and aren't covered by Jesus' death! |
