many of the Orthodox Churches already use the Gregorian calendar. It's basically only the Slavic churches which have retained the use of the Julian calendar, so you have the Greeks, Arabs, and others on the "new calendar" and the Serbs, Russians, and Ukrainians on the Old Calendar. I guess there are three exceptions to the Slav / non-Slav split. The Patriarchate of Jerusalem is still on the Old Calendar, as are the monastics on Mount Athos and in Sinai. (The Copts, Armenians, Ethiopians, etc. are also on the Julian calendar, but they're not, strictly speaking, Orthodox.)

We'll see what happens in the coming year. At least next year I'll get a statutory holiday for Good Friday, rather than using some of my vacation time.
