In reply to I don't know what to believe anymore... submitted by Altima on June 18 2000 11:05:21

Hi Altima,

I was very moved by your questioning and your openness. IMO, in order to move deeper into your faith it is probably necessary to go through a time of questioning and doubt. It's a process that is often necessary for people to move beyond being cultural Christians (believing what they've been taught) into a place where, as Mark put it, they begun to be a "part of the new creation in Christ; with the additional fact that as we begin to participate together with God in the creative act of loving, just as Jesus did, then our own
contribution becomes a part of that living, creative process."

Although you labeled yourself as a boylover, I suspect that what you mean is that you are same-sex attracted. Zip said, "there are some good gay resources out there if that's what you wanted."

The best resource I know for gay Christian youth is my friend Justin Lee. I'll put a live link to his webpage "Justin's World" at the end of his post. I asked him how to reply to you and he surfed here and read your post. Justin says I can relay a message to you. Justin is not a boylover -- well, he was attracted to boys when he was your age, but now he's 22 and he's attracted to men his own age.

Justin says, "please point him to my personal webpage as a resource for gay Christian youth, and let him know that I would be happy to respond to any e-mail he wanted to send (although I agree that an anonymous mail account like hotmail would probably be in his best interest.)  I could also put him in contact with other gay Christian young people that I know.  I get a lot of e-mail from around the world.

GayTeenChristians has pretty much died off, although I'm still in contact with some of the guys who used to be there.  However, another good resource for him would be the youth page of GayChristian.net, which is another site that I run."

Justin's email address is justin@alumni.wfu.edu and here's a live link to his personal webpage, "Justin's World."
