When you say you believe something, doesn't that mean that you think it's true?

I am convinced that there must be an absolute truth. In today's society people often talk, in the name of tolerance, about your truth and my truth. Whatever 'truth' works for you... I find a ridiculous thing to say. If people have two diferent ideas of God or a higher power or whatever, then logically at least one of them has to be mistaken. Today you are a intolerant arrogant fundamentalist if you say your belief is the truth. But why believe in anything if you don't think it's the truth? If someone could convince me that it isn't true, then at that moment I will stop believing.

What use does a belief have if it isn't true? It might give you a sense of spiritual well during your life, but what's that worth in the scope of things? You'll just be fooling yourself. It won't save you...

Off course I can't proove anything, so I might be wrong. But I don't think I am. I am sure enough to invest my life in it...
