My experience with love has seldom been "warm and fuzzy"; it's more like "tough and messy." It's often been unpredictable and sometimes shocking. To the extent I've really let other people into my heart, I find myself continually confronted with having to deal with problems and questions I'd never even considered. In fact, I've found that my reliance on doctrine and scripture for all the answers was a lot more of a security blanket, and one that kept me from the mess of relationships. ---Ford |
