I tend to agree with you, Rex. Satan is just this nasty dude who happened to rebel against God. He's not the AntiGod, in the sense that he is God's equal opposite. Christianity is not Dualism.

Seems to me the choice is, rather, between God and not-God. not-God can be many different things, Satan only being one of them.

Or maybe I'm wrong ?

ps I've heard it said that "hell" is in fact a passing place of sadness, that the eternal state for nonbelievers is oblivion, not pain. eg look at Rev 21, with even Hades being thrown into the Lake of Fire to be no more.
