fair comment - there is no difference in what is ultimately said - but there is a commitment to openness, to listening first and looking for the common ground. OK - so the difference is one of the How, not of the What. But I am beginning to discover that the phrase 'speaking the truth in love' does not justify speaking the truth without love - which is what I am failing to hear in Mr Smith's efforts and which has frequently been lacking in my own input to others' lives as well. Does that make any sense to anyone else? |
