Just as alcoholics at AA meetings accept what they are. And they know they must constantly, for the rest of their lives, keep vigilant against their lower proclivities.

I'm sure they could sit back and say, well God made me an alcoholic for a reason, and I don't think that all drinking for me is alcohol abuse. In fact I know quite a bit who are of that thought process. Their lives are pretty miserable. But at least they mainly only harm themselves.
